1) Take reasonable steps to protect your property from any further damage.

2) Make notes on the event which lead to the claim including date, time, circumstances, names and addresses of any witnesses. If possible, take pictures.

3) Notify the police if necessary.

Do not dispose of any damaged property.

Should you have a loss, be aware that in Manitoba you have two years from the date of loss to finalize your claim.
